Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the first regional flights scheme called UDAN. UDAN is Ude Desh ke Aam Nagrik.
Modi started the first Shimla to New Delhi flight to allow people to fly cheap and connect regional areas.
The flight is being operated by Alliance Air, a company of Air India.
Modi also started regional flights on the Kadapa-Hyderabad and Nanded-Hyderabad areas through video-call.
The air ticket for a one-hour journey of 500 km, including all charges has been priced at Rs 2,500.
For longer routes and flight duration, the air ticket price may be different. A single person can buy 9 to 40 seats in a flight.
The government of Maharashtra plans to introduce more than 50,000 new mini-bank branches in some of the small villages of the state.
The government had made it compulsory for Axis Bank, IDFC Bank, Yes Bank and Saraswat Bank to set up mini-ATMs at grocery shops, medical shops and panchayat offices in villages.
These ATMs will help people to open accounts, and deposit, withdraw and transfer money. It will also allow people to pay bills, book for train and air tickets.
The idea is to create a network of bank agents in each village to make Maharashtra a cashless state.
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty were trading low on Thursday. This was because investors continued to book profits before the April F&O.The BSE Sensex closed 103.61 points down at 30,029.74 while the NSE Nifty closed 9.70 points down at 9,342.15. The top three Sensex gainers were Tata Motors (+1.22%), Cipla (+1.11%) and Infosys (+1.08%). The top three Sensex losers were Lupin (-2.72%), Axis Bank (-2.19%) and ITC (-1.91%). The top three Nifty gainers were Yes Bank (+3.58%), ACC (+2.21%) and IOC (+2.12%). The top three Nifty losers were Auro Pharma (-3.02%), Lupin (-2.63%) and ITC (-1.91%).
Amway India, along with the NGO Arushi, has set up a Braille and audio library for visually-impaired students in Bhopal. The library is located in the Arushi centre.
The library offers Braille versions of more than 350 books and journals ranging from academic books, fiction, self-help, and general knowledge.
Amway hopes that the library will encourage education and knowledge among the visually impaired so they can get opportunities despite physical limitations. This year Amway has supported the opening of 32 Braille libraries across the country, which are expected to benefit more than 11,000 visually impaired people.

Ridesharing company Uber has plans to introduce a system of flying cars to move people around cities in the US and UAE.
The company wants to develop Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) cabs to fulfil the dream of getting a ride with the push of a button.
It plans to partner with plane manufacturers to develop and test a network of flying electric cars by 2020.
Uber hopes the service will sooner or later cost about the same as its car rides.
The idea is to reduce pollution and travelling time, free up the space kept for parking cars and be able to move in all corners of the city.
Telecom company Reliance Jio has introduced new recharge plans for both prepaid and postpaid users.
The company’s three postpaid plans for Jio Prime members are 4G data of 30 GB for Rs 309, 60 GB for Rs 509 and 60 GB (with no daily data limit) for Rs 999.

Rs. 19 plan offers 200MB 4G data, unlimited voice calls and messages, Jio Apps subscription, 1-day validity (100MB 4G data for non-Prime customers).
Rs. 49 plan offers 600MB 4G data, unlimited voice calls and messages, Jio Apps subscription, 3-day validity (300MB 4G data for non-Prime customers).
Rs. 96 plan offers 7GB 4G data, 1GB per day, unlimited voice calls and messages, Jio Apps subscription, 7-day validity (600MB 4G data for non-Prime customers).

The administration in the state of Missouri, United States, has come up with a program to give financial support to people with disabilities and their families.
Under the program, tax-free savings accounts have been introduced for PwD. These accounts can be opened by PwD, or their families, and used to pay for expenses related to disabilities.
Others can donate to this program. The savings from the account will not be added when considering the person with disability for other benefits.
As per reports, Stephen, a 12-year-old boy, will be the first to open a savings account.

The Indian Railways is developing a new mobile app which is likely to be named HindRail.
The app will work as a full-time inquiry system and give information on train arrivals, departures, delays, cancellations, platform number, running status and availability of seats.
The app will also offer booking of taxis, porter services, retiring rooms, hotels and other travel-related needs.
The Railways plan to introduce the app by June this year.
The idea is to combine all the rail-travel related services into one app and earn around Rs 100 crore every year.

The news service will combine the work of professional journalists and volunteers.
The service will depend on supporters for donations.
The news website will provide high quality information based on facts which one can read free and without advertisements.
The news article will have a link to the source of a fact or it will have full text or recording of the interview.
The idea of the service is to fight with the problems of fake news on internet.
