As the world is battling Coronavirus and even its mutant variant, the World Health Organization (WHO) reminded countries of the terrible impact in the future. WHO said that worst pandemics could lie ahead and hence the world needs to get serious and prepare for it. As United Nations commemorates the first International Day of the Epidemic Preparedness, WHO emergencies chief Michael Ryan said that there is much to look ahead.

Over 1.8 million across the world have been killed by Covid-19, also called as Coronavirus. At least 80 million have been infected. Though countries, including India are experimenting a vaccine, nothing substantial has come out till date adding to the worries and woes of people.

“This pandemic has been very severe. It has spread around the world extremely quickly and it has affected every corner of this planet, but this is not necessarily the big one”, said Ryan.

At the meet, WHO senior advisor Bruce Aylward also warned people of the adverse underlying effects of the virus.
