PM Modi introduces regional flights scheme UDAN
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the first regional flights scheme called UDAN. UDAN is Ude Desh ke Aam Nagrik.
Modi started the first Shimla to New Delhi flight to allow people to fly cheap and connect regional areas.
The flight is being operated by Alliance Air, a company of Air India.
Modi also started regional flights on the Kadapa-Hyderabad and Nanded-Hyderabad areas through video-call.
The air ticket for a one-hour journey of 500 km, including all charges has been priced at Rs 2,500.
For longer routes and flight duration, the air ticket price may be different. A single person can buy 9 to 40 seats in a flight.
