Facebook likes and comments help to reduce exam anxiety
A new study says that reading supportive messages in the form of ‘likes’, comments and private messages from Facebook friends just before an exam may help students reduce their exam anxiety and tension.
It means positive activities on social network Facebook helps students perform better in exams and improve their test marks.
The research was done by the University of Illinois in the United States.
The participants of the research were given a seven-minute expressive writing exercise and computer programming exercises.
It found that undergraduate students with high levels of exam anxiety who took support from their online friends and read positive messages before the exams had a decrease in anxiety levels by 21%.
