Facebook launches Express WiFi internet service in 700 Indian villages

Social network Facebook has officially launched its ‘Express WiFi’ internet service in India.

The new service is now available at 700 villages across Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Meghalaya.

The company has tied up with 500 local businessmen to sell these services through physical and online recharge packs that are priced at Rs 10 to 20 for a day or Rs 200 to 300 for a month.

Express WiFi service offers internet at speed above 10 Mbps without any daily limit.

The idea is to set up public WiFi hotspots and help provide internet to many people in poor or no connectivity areas.
