Meaningful writing may help overcome divorce-related stress
A new study says that writing about the emotions and experiences in a certain way can help reduce the harmful effects of stress on the heart for people going through a divorce.
The study said that writing about the experiences in a meaningful way may improve the heart rate and reduce the stress that comes with marital separation.
The research was done on 70 women and 39 men who were divorced recently. Participants were given writing exercises and their heart rates to stress were compared before and after the writing tasks.
