Pune college goes green with solar power plant

A college in Pune has decided to use solar power to produce its own electricity and light up the campus.

BKPS College of Architecture, Pune now has a solar electricity generation plant set up on the college roof.

The plant will not only provide enough electricity required for the use of the college but a little more as well. The college has plans to sell the extra electricity generated and earn revenue from it.

The cost of the setup was incurred by the college administration and they paid Rs 6 lakh for installation.

More colleges can follow this example and opt for the eco-friendly source of power.
