App designed by IIT Bombay students is saving lives of pregnant women

Students of Indian Institute of Technology-IIT Bombay have developed a mobile phone application for the benefit of pregnant women in slums and remote areas.

The app is designed to detect pregnant women and particularly those that are found to be high-risk by health workers.

The app is called Care Mother and has been tested in 60 villages of Maharashtra successfully. The app will also be used in Mumbai slums soon.

It is currently available on smartphone and health care workers can create account for each pregnant woman on the mobile application. Care Mother application stores medical data and calculates the health of the women.
