Kerala to host first transgender beauty show

Kerala has been taking many steps towards greater inclusion of the transgender community in society. From the first transgender athletic meet in India to hiring 23 transgender employees in the Kochi metro project, Kerala is showing the way to the rest of India.

Now, Kochi will host a transgender beauty pageant on 15 June, the first of its kind in the state. Auditions for the Kochi and Malabar regions have already finished, with 15 and 11 contestants from the two zones finalised.

The contestants went through a session in make up and choreography and they will also participate in a two-day final grooming session from 23 May.
