Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s Twitter account suspended over bad language

The Twitter account of singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has been suspended after he used ‘inappropriate’ and ‘insulting’ language in his tweets for female Twitter users.

One of the female is a JNU student-activist Shehla Rashid who had tweeted about sex scandals involving BJP leaders. Abhijeet is a BJP supporter and got into a verbal battle on Twitter.

He used abusive language and accused Shehla Rashid of being a sex worker herself.

Singer Sonu Nigam came out in support of Abhijeet Bhattacharya and announced he will quit Twitter too. He said that Twitter should also suspend Shehla Rashid’s account and not be biased against Abhijeet.
