Vijay Mallya to attend all Champions Trophy matches to support India
Indian businessman Vijay Mallya, wanted in connection with financial crimes in India, was seen attending the India-Pakistan ICC Champions Trophy match on Sunday at Edgbaston cricket ground in England. After the game, he shared on Twitter that he plans to attend all the matches to support the Indian team.
61-year-old Vijay Mallya was arrested by the British officials in April on India’s arrest request in relation with a Rs. 900 crore loan default case of IDBI Bank. However, he was released on bail within hours by a London court.
Mallya’s closed company Kingfisher Airlines owes more than Rs. 9,000 crores, including interest to various banks. He had escaped from India on March 2 last year.
