Sensex closes 7 points up, Nifty settles above 9600

The BSE Sensex had an all-time high of 31,522 points when the markets opened on Thursday. This increase comes after SEBI announced an ease in rules to buy stressed assets of listed companies.

The BSE Sensex closed 7.10 points up at 31,290.74 while the NSE Nifty closed 3.60 points down at 9,630.00. The top three Sensex gainers were SBI India (+1.50%), HDFC (+1.41%) and Reliance (+1.06%). The top three Sensex losers were ONGC (-2.82%), Lupin (-2.49%) and Power Grid (-2.11%). The top three Nifty gainers were Sun Pharma (+2.00%), Auro Pharma (+1.53%) and HDFC (+1.34%). The top three Nifty losers were IOC (-3.69%), Lupin (-2.74%) and Hindalco (-2.67%).
