WhatsApp to allow users to share files in different formats soon

Mobile messaging app WhatsApp is reportedly testing support for all types of files for Android, iOS and Windows Phone. The all-file type sharing support can be used by some users in countries like India, Sri Lanka, Japan and Kuwait, says a report.

The company will release the update for all users in the next few months.

The report also said that the all-file type sharing limit for iOS is 128MB, while Android users will get 100MB limit. Users using the web version of the app can only share files up to 64MB.

The new update will allow users to share different file formats, including MP3 files and even APK files. Users will also be able to share uncompressed pictures and videos.
