Delhi metro trains to go driverless soon

Delhi Metro’s first driverless trains will soon be started on the Magenta Line from Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden.

The new Delhi Metro line will be open to the public in stages between October 2017 and March 2018.

Trial runs on the new route are being worked on to ensure safety for public.

The driverless trains are technologically advanced and energy-efficient trains. The trains will run on the unattended train operation (UTO) mode, that is without a driver after about two years of operation.

Apart from the Magenta line, the upcoming Pink Line from Shiv Vihar to Majlis Park will also have driverless operations.
