Twitter starts campaign to educate people on online safety
Social networking website Twitter has announced a new public education service for India called #TweeSurfing.
The initiative will educate users about online safety, rules of using Twitter and how to use the service in a positive way.
The company has tied up with the Centre for Social Research (CSR) in Delhi to deal with the problem of online safety. There were also online safety workshops held in Coimbatore, Noida, Chitkara and Leh to reach youngsters in smaller cities and towns in India.
The company will also hold #TweeSurfing workshops in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. It will also offer a 14-day online internship program called TweeShip to train users on how to create Twitter campaigns for social change.
