Myanmar to allow its disabled population to get college education
The disabled people in Myanmar have some good news coming up. The government has decided to remove restrictions on disabled people from getting a college education.
Now people with disabilities in Myanmar will be eligible to apply to study in institutions of higher learning.
The government has ordered that colleges cannot discriminate against disabled people and they must be treated equally.
More than 2.3 million people in Myanmar have some form of disability and fifty three percent of them do not have access to education.
Legal action will now be taken against educational institute that refuse admission to disabled people.
