Girl with learning disability refused admission by Mumbai college
A student with learning disability who scored 81.2% in the class 12 exams has been refused admission by KC College in Mumbai.
The college has given the excuse that the student did her class 12 studies from the private National Institute of Open Schooling.
The issue has been raised by the NGO Child Reach as the girl’s name came in the third merit list of the college. However when she went for admission to the campus, she was refused by the college.
The Mumbai University has also said that the college’s decision is incorrect and there is no rule about giving preference to regular students over private students.
