Modi announces new flight service to Tel Aviv from Delhi & Mumbai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced to start a direct flight service connecting Delhi, Mumbai and Tel Aviv. The idea is to invite people from Israel to visit India more often.

Modi has also promised to simplify the rules for Indian people living in Israel who have done compulsory army service to avail the overseas citizen of India (OCI) cards.

Modi also said that an Indian Cultural Centre will be started in Israel.

Earlier, Air India had decided to start direct flight between Delhi and Tel Aviv. However, the launch was delayed as many countries, which fall in the selected route, did not give overflight permission.
