Delhi University to introduce GST in arts & commerce syllabus

The Delhi University plans to introduce Goods and Service Tax (GST) subjects in the syllabus of students studying commerce and arts courses.

GST will replace the topics covered on other indirect taxes. It will be included in the commerce papers of the university’s three courses – B Com (Hons), B Com and BA.

The new tax system will also be a part of the commerce and management syllabus in Uttar Pradesh’s higher education institutes.

Goods and Services Tax or GST is an indirect tax introduced across India from 1 July by the Narendra Modi government. It replaced different taxes which were earlier charged by the central and state governments.
