Researchers in UK to introduce new app to identify fake goods
A new smartphone app that can identify fake goods with 100% accuracy may be available to the users by next year, says a report.
Every year, imports of fake and illegally copied goods like car parts, medicines around the world causes losses in revenue.
Such goods are also dangerous to people’s health and causes millions of deaths a year.
So, researchers in the UK have found a positive way to stop the distribution of fake goods. The new technology works through a smartphone app which can read if the product is real or fake and help people to check if the product is original through their smartphones.
The user will be able to scan the optical tag on the product with his or her smartphone, which will match the 2D tag with the maker’s database.
