No meat for economy class flyers on Air India
Air India has decided to stop serving non-vegetarian food to passengers flying on economy class.
The menu for economy class has no meat items on all domestic routes of the airline now.
Air India says that this cost cutting will help the airline save up to Rs 10 crore every year.
As per reports, the airline spends around Rs 350-400 crore on its catering services each year.
Air India says that this will also help avoid confusion, as at times, vegetarian passengers are served non-vegetarian meals during flights.
First class passengers and those on international flights will be served non-vegetarian food as usual.
