App to track & find missing children in India

Every year thousands of children in India go missing and are never united with their families.

S Krishnan from Chennai has been looking for his brother who went missing since last 28 years.

He has now taken the help of IT professionals to create a bank of photos of almost 3 lakh missing children. The team of IT people is already using facial recognition to track and find missing children.

An application called Facetagr has helped track over 100 children across India so far.

The centre government also has a public website to register missing children called ‘Khoya Paya’, and ‘Track Child’ that are used to unite children with families.
