Disabled students from Tamil Nadu set to become engineers
S Yoga Ganapathy and K Krishnamoorthy are both disabled and come from poor families but refused to give up their dreams of becoming engineers.
The two graduates have got engineering seats through the single window counselling of the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions.18-year-old Ganapathy, whose father is a carpenter, wants to find a good job after college to help support his family. He has got a seat in the Government College for Technology in Coimbatore.
Krishnamoorthy has got a mechanical engineering seat in Sree Krishna College in Vellore. Krishnamoorthy left school when he was 15 years old after he suffered a disability. His parents took him back to school after three years as he was very interested in studying.
