Reliance Jio Phone to launch in September
Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has announced the launch of Jio Phone at the company’s annual meeting. The phone will be available in stores in September and pre-booking will start from 24 August onwards.
The phone users will get Reliance Jio services like free voice calling and SMS, unlimited internet data with a daily high-speed data limit of 500MB at Rs 153 per month.
Users can get access to apps such as JioTV and JioCinema on TVs using a cable developed by the company. Users will need to register to the Rs. 309 Jio pack to avail the same.
The new phone is introduced as ‘India’s smartphone’ which will be made free. Customers need to make payment of Rs 1,500 to get the Jio Phone. However, they can claim the amount after three years of purchasing the mobile.
The features of the basic phone are alphanumeric keypad, small 2.4-inch colour screen, rear camera, FM radio, Bluetooth, NFC, dual-SIM and 4G VoLTE support.
The phone also supports 22 Indian languages, and voice instructions. Users can send messages, make calls, search the web using voice commands.
