No WhatsApp on the new JioPhone, says report
The newly started JioPhone will not be supporting famous messaging app WhatsApp, says a report.
JioPhone was launched on 21 July and is India’s first ‘free of cost’ 4G feature smartphone.
The phone has a 2.4-inch display, FM radio, torch, headphone jack, SD card slot and alphanumeric keyboard. It also supports digital payment and gives access to Jio apps.
However, the phone doesn’t support WhatsApp, which is being used by 200 millions of Indians.
It is reported that Reliance will introduce support for WhatsApp on the new phone at a later stage.
The company is opening pre-booking for the JioPhone from 24 August on its website or MyJio app and Reliance Digital stores all across the country.
