No rules broken in Sanjay Dutt case, says Maharashtra government

The Bombay High Court had raised a question about why Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was released earlier than the scheduled date from Nashik. Dutt was in prison serving his sentence in the 1993 blasts case.

Replying to the court, the Maharashtra government has said that no rules were broken in releasing Dutt.

The court has also asked why the prison authorities and the government gave frequent paroles and leaves to the actor while he was in prison.

The court has said that if it was found that rules were broken in the actor’s case, he should be sent back to prison.
