Government starts two new apps to send disaster alerts
The government has started two new mobile apps called ‘India Quake’ to give information on earthquakes and ‘Sagar Vani’ to give early warnings of high waves to people living in seashores and fishermen.
Any person can download the ‘India Quake’ app and get quick alerts and information on the earthquake locations and time on his or her mobile.
The 'Sagar Vani' app provides ocean related information using SMS services in different local languages, voice call, social media updates and audio announcements.
The idea is to help reduce worry among people during earthquakes and high sea waves like Tsunami.
