Blind movie review of Mubarakan

A blind perspective:
CAST:
Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz, Athiya Shetty, Ratna Pathak Shah, Pavan Malhotra, Neha Sharma, Rahul Dev.
DIRECTION:
Anees Bazmee
GENRE:
Comedy
DURATION:
2 hours 36 minutes
STORY:
Kartar Singh (Anil Kapoor) suddenly came into a situation where he got the responsibility of his 2 little twin nephews (double role of Arjun Kapoor as Charan and Karan) due to sudden death of his elder brother.
So he gave Charan to his brother (Pavan) in Punjab and Karan to his sister (Ratna) to raise them.
After Karan and Charan were grown up, both fall in love with their girlfriends (Ileana as Karan’s lover and Neha as Charan’s lover). But their parents wanted them to marry somewhere else.
In between Charan met Binkle (Athiya) and fell in love with her.
Afterwards, a situation comes where Karan and Charan get engaged with each other’s lovers.
The story moves around this situation and how Kartar Singh helps the twin brothers for a happy ending.
The movie is quite interesting in the first half but in the second half, the movie is less comedy and boring. Punch lines were missing in the movie.
Acting by the lead characters (Anil & Arjun) was also average and less energetic.
The acting of Charan’s father is quite appreciable. Music and songs are also okay.
It might be better if focus would be more on comedy and punches instead of shooting locations and emotional drama.
ACCESSIBILITY:
The movie is almost accessible for visually impaired persons as it’s mostly dialogue-based.
Visually impaired persons may sometimes get difficulty to differentiate between the voices of twin brothers.
It might be more accessible if there would be some difference in the tone and style of talking of two brothers.
There are some textual directions like place name, time duration etc. which are inaccessible for visually impaired persons as they don’t have audio description.
RATING:
2.5/5 stars.
A sighted perspective:
Mubarakan is a light movie and a complete stress buster to get entertained and keep laughing.
It is a good Punjabi family drama movie with fun loving, clean comedy which you can watch with kids and family.
The acting performances and situational comedy are so cool that you will not leave your seat in the entire film.
Anil Kapoor rocks as Kartar Chachu and has proved that he is young forever.
Ratna is superb, Pavan is at his best, Arjun is average, Ileana is beautiful but Athiya and Neha weren’t required.
Hawa Hawa song is fantastic and catchy whereas other songs are easily forgettable.
If you are planning to watch the movie to judge the story or direction, then you may not enjoy the film completely.
Watch it for the hilarious twists, big sets, expensive decorations, royal wedding scenes, cool dresses and beautiful locations.
