Wearable device that detects rape, raises alarm

Intrepid is the name of a sticker-like wearable sensor that can detect sexual attacks. The device has been created by an Indian student Manisha Mohan who is based in the United States.

The device is simple and claims to help in the prevention of rape and sexual assault.

It is attached to the clothes of the user and can detect if somebody is trying to attack or is forcibly removing clothes.

Intrepid connects to the user’s phone through Bluetooth. On sensing danger it can inform nearby people as well as the victim’s family and emergency services about the user being in danger.

It can be used even if the user is immobile or unconscious.
