Kerala High Court lifts ban on cricketer S Sreesanth

In a decision that will be a major relief for cricketer S Sreesanth, the Kerala High Court has lifted the ban imposed on him by the Indian cricket board after the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal.

The cricketer had challenged the life ban imposed upon him by the board. There were 36 accused in the case, and three people including Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila were found not guilty.

The board however had refused to lift the ban on Sreesanth even after he was cleared by the court. It said that it was still investigating whether he was guilty of match fixing, corruption and gambling and violating the disciplinary rules.
