Aadhaar to help find missing kids, elders

The officials of the Unique Identification Authority of India – UIDAI have started registering children and senior citizens from special and old-age homes.

This is after they found that Aadhaar can be an easy way to find the parents of runaway children and solve child-trafficking cases. It can also help in reuniting elderly parents with their family members.

The work has been started by the UIDAI officials in states like Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The officials are also taking help from NGOs, local and railway police of different states.

As people with disabilities cannot visit the Aadhaar registration centres, the officials visit their places or houses to complete their Aadhaar registration.
