Oxford starts Tamil, Gujarati online dictionaries
Oxford Dictionaries has launched Tamil and Gujarati online dictionaries as part of its global languages initiative. The Tamil and Gujarati dictionaries have been started after the launch of the Hindi online dictionary last year.
The idea is to give special focus and attention to the Indian languages and improve the experience of millions of readers globally by giving information in their local language in online formats like apps, websites and different digital services. The online dictionaries will allow readers and learners to access them anytime and anywhere and also positively influence their learning and education.
After providing dictionaries in these three Indian languages, Oxford Dictionaries plans to introduce its online dictionary for more regional languages in future.
