Disabled people on hunger strike against stall demolition
A group of people with disabilities have started a hunger strike on Monday in Navi Mumbai at the building of civic body-PCMC. The people are protesting the decision of the civic body to demolish their stalls.
The protestors state that 42 physically challenged people have put up stalls and their families have been affected by the move.
Apang Kranti Sanghthana is supporting the protestors.
Five disabled women sat on a token hunger strike on Monday and the strike will resume today if their stalls are not allowed to stay.
As per the officials of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, the stalls were not being used by the disabled people and were given out on rent.
