Maharashtra government plans to make farmers debt-free

The government of Maharashtra plans to make farmers of the state debt-free. The announcement was made by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on 71st Indian Independence Day.

Under the ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Krushi Sanman Yojana’ scheme, farmers having pending loans between 1 April 2012 and 30 June 2016 need not have to pay their loans.

Fadnavis also said that the homeless or poor people will be given houses by 2019. Around three lakh houses will be built in the state under ‘houses for all’ project. He also motivated people to contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aim of making a ‘Nav Bharat’.
