Pension scheme for transgender community in Andhra Pradesh
The Andhra Pradesh government may soon start a pension scheme for the people of the transgender community.
This was announced by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The government is currently working on the plan and will soon launch it in the state.
The aim of the scheme is to ensure that people of the transgender community get the opportunity to lead a better life.
He also said that the government is coming up with more schemes for the welfare of the people of the state.
Odisha is the first state in India to give pensions to the transgender community along with other social benefits.
