Vitamin D and calcium for treatment of Hypothyroidism
Hypothyroidism is one of the most commonly occurring disorder these days.
It is caused when body doesn’t produce enough thyroid hormone. The butterfly shaped gland in the neck controls the speed of bodily functions.
Irregular production of thyroid hormone affects the proper working of various organs in the body.
To keep Thyroid in control, a low-fat, protein-rich diet is recommended. Also, water intake, sleep and four to five hours of exercise a week helps in the long term.
Vitamin D and calcium found in milk and yoghurt are also effective in treating an underactive thyroid.
Sunlight is an excellent source of Vitamin D.
