Sensex closes 362 points down, Nifty settles below 9,800

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty were trading in red on Tuesday due to the firing of a missile over Japan by North Korea and the expiry of local derivatives contracts this week affected investors' sentiment.

The BSE Sensex closed 362.43 points down at 31,388.39 while the NSE Nifty closed 116.75 points down at 9,796.05.

The top Sensex gainers were M& M (+0.25%) and Wipro (+0.02%).

The top three Sensex losers were NTPC (-2.80%), Sun Pharma (-2.35%) and Reliance (-2.17%).

The top three Nifty gainers were Tech Mahindra (+1.23%), M&M (+0.14%) and Zeel (+0.12%).

The top three Nifty losers were Bank of Baroda (-2.98%), NTPC (-2.91%) and Hindalco (-2.65%).
