Sensex closes 258 points up, Nifty settles above 9,800
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty were trading up on Wednesday as investors were looking for bargains and ignored the geopolitical tensions a day after North Korea fired a missile that flew over northern Japan.
The BSE Sensex closed 258.07 points up at 31,646.46 while the NSE Nifty closed 88.35 points up at 9,884.40.
The top three Sensex gainers were Reliance (+2.12%), Adani Ports (+1.94%) and HDFC (+1.83%).
The top three Sensex losers were M&M (-1.28%), Power Grid (-0.35%) and NTPC (-0.30%).
The top three Nifty gainers were Bosch Ltd (+6.02%), Hindalco (+4.00%) and IOC (+3.68%).
The top three Nifty losers were Tech Mahindra (-1.38%), M&M (-1.23%) and Dr Reddy (-0.44%).
