India ranks as the most corrupt country in Asia, says report
A recent research by the Transparency International (TI), an anti-corruption global civil society organisation, says that India is the most corrupt country in Asia.
A list released by Forbes 'Asia's Five Most Corrupt Countries' says that India beats Vietnam, Thailand, Pakistan and Myanmar, when it comes to corruptions rates.
It is reported that India is the highest in the list with 69 % bribery rate and shows that more than half the participants of the survey have had to pay a bribe in five of the six public services such as schools, hospitals, ID documents, police, and utility services.
However, the report praises Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's work for 'fight against corruption'.
The 18-month long survey by the organisation was completed after talking to more than 20,000 people in 16 countries, regions and territories in the Asia Pacific.
