Know how separate bank accounts can help you live a happy married life!
A new study says that the true secret of a long and happy marriage is not in romantic dates or loving partners, but rather in separate bank accounts.
Although it is well-known that a joint bank account can help develop trust and openness but sharing income, especially savings, is also one of the reasons for break-up or divorce, says the research.
The study was done to find the spending habits of people in Britain and suggests that joint bank accounts can be a simple way to manage household spending for newly married couples. However, more people than ever before are choosing to keep their finances separate after getting married or moving in together to avoid unnecessary conflicts.
The research found that 34 % of married couples chose keeping their bank accounts separate to remain financially independent.
