Sensex closes 189 points down, Nifty settles below 10,000
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty were trading down on Monday as North Korea's latest powerful nuclear test made investors cautious and pushed the stock markets in negative zone.
The BSE Sensex closed 189.98 points down at 31,702.25 while the NSE Nifty closed 61.55 points down at 9,912.85.
The top three Sensex gainers were Coal India (+3.38%), Sun Pharma (+2.79%) and ONGC (+1.06%).
The top three Sensex losers were Adani Ports (-2.60%), Bharti Airtel (-2.21%) and Infosys (-2.04%).
The top three Nifty gainers were Coal India (+3.18%), Sun Pharma (+2.89%) and Bosch Ltd (+1.41%).
The top three Nifty losers were IOC (-4.33%), Adani Ports (-2.70%) and ACC (-2.51%).
