Odisha increases reservation for the disabled in government jobs

In an effort to increase the share of the disabled in public service, the Odisha government has approved a proposal to increase reservations for the category to 4% from the present 3%.

As part of the effort to accommodate more women from the disabled, 1% out of the 4% quota for the category would be reserved for women.

Among the many measures taken by the Odisha government for the benefit of the disabled in the state are reservation in educational institutions, grant of financial aid and setting up of special schools.
