Blind man saves passenger who falls from Mumbai local train while others ignore
Salim Shaikh, a blind man who plays the flute near Dadar station to make a living, helped save the life of a man who fell on the platform while trying to get off a train as it was pulling into a platform.
The passenger, Baburam Morbu, suffered hip injuries and was admitted to Sion hospital. Shaikh says he heard a loud thud and someone told him that a passenger had fallen from a moving train.
Morbu was confused and hurt and lay on the platform.
When no one rushed to help him or even call the railway helpline, Shaikh decided to do something. He called up the railway police inspector and told him.
The police took the man to Sion hospital.
