Here's how you can link your mobile SIM card with Aadhaar
The central government has announced that all the SIM cards have to be linked to Aadhaar before February 2018 to avoid the mobile numbers getting deactivated.
The idea is to prevent criminals, fraudsters, and terrorists from using SIMs in the name of ordinary citizens.
If you have opted for 'eKYC' Aadhaar based activation, that is by providing the biometrics while applying for mobile connection, you need not go through the Aadhaar-SIM linking process again.
If you have not opted for 'eKYC' , then you need to visit your nearest mobile company store and go through some steps to complete the compulsory E-KYC process.
eKYC means an online method of giving information as per the Know Your Customer rules.

Aadhaar number/card and mobile are the only documents required to complete the process.

For Idea Aadhaar-SIM linking, you can check the steps on its mobile app.
Visit the nearest Idea centre with your mobile number and Aadhaar number.
The Idea store executive will give a four-digit verification code on your mobile from the re-verification application.
You will then give the verification code to the Idea store executive and provide your biometrics.
You will receive a confirmation SMS after 24 hours, reply 'Y' to complete the E-KYC process.
