Disabled child gets to show his craft expertise to Japan PM's wife

Darch Soni, a 10-year-old boy from Ahmedabad, who was born without a hand, was one of the lucky kids who got to meet the first lady of Japan Akie Abe.

Abe launched a Origami Mahotsav, showing models of Japanese paper-folding art made by students from Gujarat, at the Ahmedabad Management Association.

Soni started learning origami through online videos a month before the competition. He made models of a dinosaur and a flower that were selected. Soni was taught the craft by the NGO Origami for Peace.

Winners of the origami competition won prizes, personally picked up by Mrs Abe.
