Running can help you get rid of the smoking habit, says study
A new study says that running can help people get rid of the bad habit of smoking and save them from health problems.
The research showed that 50% of the participants who completed a 10-week running programme were able to successfully quit smoking, while 91% of the participants reportedly reduced their smoking habit.
It means physical activity can be help smokers to get rid of their bad habit as stopping smoking on their own is very difficult.
The programme which included weekly sessions of classroom time divided between running instruction and ways for quitting smoking along with an outdoor walking or running also showed improvement in participants' mental health.
