Researchers develop a new app to help track a woman’s menstrual cycle
A smartphone app called 'Natural Cycles' has been found to be useful to track women's menstrual cycle and identify which days are safe to have unprotected sex.
The app is the first to be certified for contraception and considered as a medical device by a German inspection company employed by the Department of Health to test the safety of new drugs and medical devices.
The app was the idea of husband and wife team Dr Elina Berglund and Dr Raoul Scherwitzl, who were in search of an effective method of natural contraception.
The app is a way to combine scientific research and mobile technology to empower every woman across the world with the knowledge about her body, menstrual cycle and fertility.
