PM Modi writes to South Indian actor Mohanlal to join 'Swachhata Hi Seva' initiative
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited famous south Indian actor Mohanlal to be a part of the central government's 'Swachhata Hi Seva' movement.
Modi wrote a letter to the national award winning actor and said cinema can help to bring about a change and Mohanlal's presence will help in influencing people's life positively.
The Prime Minister said the Malayalam actor could share his experience about the movement on the Narendra Modi mobile app and help connect millions of people to the programme.
For now, Mohanlal has voiced his support for the movement and said in a social media post, “I support ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ movement and dedicate myself to this great and noble cause. Let’s build a new (clean) India".
President Ram Nath Kovind had launched the 'Swachhta Hi Seva' (Cleanliness is Service) sanitation campaign in Uttar Pradesh, which will end on the birth anniversary of the father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi on 2 October.
