BSNL to work with Lava, Micromax to launch Rs 2,000 phones
Telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is partnering with mobile device companies Lava and Micromax to come up with feature phones that cost around Rs 2,000 in October.
The idea is to introduce own feature phones with very interesting voice packages.
The price of the phones are still being worked out but it will be surely cheaper and also provide free calling facility, says the report.
The company has plans to launch the feature phone before the Diwali festival begins, which is by 19 October this year. However, it has not confirmed if the new feature phones will be 4G-enabled.
Recently, competitor company Reliance Jio launched a feature phone that's able to use the 4G for basic media applications.
