Kerala Handicapped Persons’ Welfare Corporation to offer bank loans to disabled

The State Handicapped Persons’ Welfare Corporation in Kerala is making bank loans from various commercial banks available to the disabled under a self-employment scheme.

The corporation will give a subsidy under the scheme.

For loans up to Rs. 20,000, 50% of the total loan amount, or a maximum of Rs 5,000 will be given as subsidy.

For loans from Rs 20,001 to Rs. 50,000, a subsidy of 30% will be offered, from Rs. 50,001 to Rs. 1,00,000, a 25% subsidy or minimum of Rs. 15,000, and for loans above Rs one lakh, 20%, or a maximum of Rs. one lakh will be provided as subsidy.

The applications will be recommended to the service area bank chosen by the applicant.

Along with the completed application form, copy of an attested certificate proving over 40% disability, and two passport size photos have to be given.
